NOTE ON THE BEDROOM HEATER: All the heaters in the house are working fine when the pilot light is on and should be ON all the time during the WINTER. When you enter the cabin for the first time, the cabin should already be pre-heated and all the heater pilot lights should be ON. The only reason why the pilot light would be off in the bedroom is if someone accidentally turned the heater ON/OFF switch (located at the bottom of the thermostat) in the master bedroom to the OFF position. A huge note is posted not to turn off the switch but for some reason, perhaps children of the guests or guest who failed to read the note first accidentally turns this switch off. Please make sure that the heater ON/OFF switch in the master bedroom is always ON. If it was switched OFF accidentally then later switched ON, the pilot light will not turn ON automatically and has to be lit manually. Having the rental manager turn on the pilot light for you will cost $60.00 for the visit. The guest with knowledge and experience with this type of heater can manually turn on the pilot light safely, however for safety reasons, once it is OFF we recommend the rental manager turn it on for you or use the living room heater to heat up the entire house. According to the Big Bear Heating company, with the bedroom doors open, the heater in the living room is powerful enough to heat up the entire house. When the pilot light is off in the bedroom heater, please use the heater in the living room to heat up the entire house. So please, be careful when adjusting the bedroom thermostat for the temperature using the top switch rather than the bottom switch. Do not turn the bedroom thermostat ON/OFF switch to OFF in order to avoid this dilemma. We will work on a solution to cover the bottom of the thermostat so that the guest do not accidentally turn off the switch to the pilot light.
